As a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees I assist touring shows and local performing arts groups at multiple union houses in the Eugene/Springfield area as well as the Portland Metro Area. As part of a large team, my duties included ticket taking, vaccination status verification, parking enforcement, assisting patrons and contributing to venue safety.

Theatrical Contractor

Springfield Public Schools

October 2023 - Present

I’ve had the pleasure to consult and work with students at Springfield Public High School. In the 2023 - 2024 school year we transitioned both performing arts spaces to a modern lighting control system. I designed the integration of the new equipment and provided students with hands-on training.

Theatrical Contractor

Eugene School District 4j

October 2016 - Present

Working with students to pass along my skills is such a rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to work with students at South Eugene High, Churchill High, and Roosevelt Middle School. During the 2022-2023 school year I assisted the Technical Production class in constructing sets, troubleshooting their lighting system, and providing guidance to students on safe power tool operation.

Technical Director (TD)

Richard E. Wildish Community Theater

September 2012 - February 2024

I started at the Wildish Theater (2012) as assistant TD to our founding TD, Skip Hubbard. Over the course of four years I learned the quirks and features of our facility and absorbed as much of Skip’s knowledge as possible. When Mr. Hubbard retired (2016) I was tapped as his successor.

As technical director for a small venue my duties extended beyond those of someone in the same role at a larger venue. In addition to programming/operating lights, sounds, and projections for stage productions, I am also responsible for maintenance of the facility including networking, electrical, and general upkeep. My duties also included scheduling production staff to work events and performing ongoing maintenance tasks and upgrades to the facility. I also often served as the House Manager; setting up and managing ticketing, interacting with patrons, and addressing any questions/concerns they have.

In the past five years I have led efforts to upgrade the theater's sound, light, projection, and telecommunications systems. Starting with researching the best solutions, writing proposals, purchasing, installing, and training others on the new equipment.

Finally as TD, teaching and inspiring students to pursue the performing arts was possibly the greatest responsibility I held. Over the years I had the opportunity to work with middle/high school students on productions and impart my experience onto them. Some have gone on to university to pursue theater arts and it is very rewarding to see what they accomplish.

Work Experience:

Coffee Shop/Community Center Information

Waterman’s Community Center

Summer 2024

Durning the summer season employees serve as attendants to the self-serve coffee facility, provide information to visitors, and supervise events. Field Technician/Administrative Support

Lane Fi

September 2020 - March 2022

At Lane Fi, unlike other ISPs, we think of our customers as members: when you call you speak directly to a human, no phone trees. Our members are our number-one priority. My primary duty is performing house calls with members when they have an issue. If a member reports an issue we first take steps with them over the phone to troubleshoot and gather information. Then, if a house call is required, our goal is to solve the issue in one visit.

Visiting members homes during the pandemic has been a unique customer service experience balancing our goal to connect with the customer but performing the work safely. Sometimes this means asking a member to don a face covering in their own home which can be difficult if members don’t share the same views, however, as long the tone of the conversation stays respectful a common understanding can be found.

When not interacting directly with members, my other duties include maintaining and extending our fiber optic network. This includes working with heavy equipment, specialized tools, and working roadside following ODOT and OHSA guidelines.

Systems Administrator/ Customer Service

Eugene Toy & Hobby

March 2016 - March 2022

Eugene Toy & Hobby’s number one priority is customer service, as e-Commerce manager my primary responsibility is maintaining an online experience for our customer (this proved crucial during the Covid-19 pandemic). If a customer has a concern/problem with their order the best thing we can do is listen and understand, then take steps to remedy the situation. When I hire and onboard a new employee, listening and comprehending the customer's concern is the first skill I teach. If you cut the customer off before they are done speaking it makes them feel disrespected and you may miss important information.

These same skills apply when I train new employees for our retail operations. Our customer base is loyal and they appreciate the personal feeling that we treat them with. Training new employees also included cash handling skills, counting change correctly, processing credit/debit cards, and other retail tasks.

My favorite part of the day is interacting with our customers, as a full service Hobby Shop we strive to provide customers with solutions to their issues. If an item is defective we repair it, or facilitate a replacement from the manufacturer. if a customer has questions about their hobby products we spend as much time with the customer as possible, answering their questions or helping them research the solution if we don’t know.

Administrative/Technology Specialist

Oak Hill School, Eugene OR

February 2016 - December 2018

At OHS my duties included enrollment, database management, attendance tracking, fundraising, parent communication, and optimizing the OHS website for mobile devices/enhancing seo performance. Additional duties included supervision of students during non classroom hours and attending to student medical concerns. On in-service/ no school days I performed maintenance on the schools network, including installation of new CAT 6 wiring and telephones.

Technology/Volunteer Coordinator,

University of Oregon Youth Enrichment Talented and Gifted Programs

June 2011- September 2015

During my time at the Talented and Gifted program my duties included maintaining office technology and providing support for staff and students. During the summer our department coordinated several summer camps for K-12 students, some overnight and some daytime. During our overnight programs I was assigned several additional duties; overnight emergency contact; scheduling supervisor.
